Introduction

Throughout the last few decades technology has advanced extremely fast. Today, technology is very advanced, and keeps growing much more as we step into the future.

We progressed from Box television, to Flat screen HD TV, and in the future, we can hopefully expect a much more advanced version of a Television.

There are many scientists and tech specialists studying and inventing new ways to upgrade present technology. As these upgrades are put, technology becomes futuristic, and over the top.

Lets talk a bit more about technology at different stages:

Throughout history, technology has advanced a so much, and is now one of the most sought out industries in the world. Lets take a closer look at 3 of these technological advancements.

Artificial Intelligence

AI has existed for the longest time. It started out in the 1700s, when people found different ways to sow many threads at once. Since then, this technology started to become much more advanced, and they are in high demand. Now, these machines are being programmed to do different tasks. As these type of machines increase in development, they have started to interact more with the environment, so it knows when to work, and when to stop.

Machines used in factories are just a starting point towards what AI is capable of.

Cyborg

Cyborgs first started to become a solid concept in the 1960s. The term cyborg, came from the word Cybernetic organism, which means the ability to combine biological and technical elements. It started out, when the first cyborg was created, when people were looking for ways to improve space travel.

Epigentics

Up until the 1950s, epigenetics has been classified as a broad subjects, talking about how a fertilized zygote leads to a mature organism. Later on, as the years went by, Epigenetics became a bigger and much more advanced stream of study in the science field. now the term epigenetics talks about the influence on genes from the environment.

Compare and Contrast

Anchor 1

Artificial Intelligence

  •  Adding Human capabilities to a Machine

  • Where machines learn without the need for programming, but the use of algorithms

  • Example: Self driving cars.

Cyborg

  •  Extending and advancing human capabilities with the use of a machine

  • Where machines help in human thinking, and goes beyond what we are capable of doing.

  • Example: Neil Harbisson - Classified Cyborg

Epigenetics

  •  The influence of environmental factors on Genes

  • Epigenetics is reversible - can keep changing the genetic sequence.

  • Example: DNA methylation - Prevents certain genes from working at a certain time.
